The ninth annual reunion and picnic of the friends and pupils of Abner Miller, an aged resident of Marion Township, who for many years taught school at the Marion Township District School No. 1, commonly known as the Sulphur Spring School will be held at the Hope Grove Saturday, August 29th.  Mr. Miller is well up in the 90s and is widely known throughout the eastern part of the county.  The former pupils of Mr. Miller each year gather at a reunion at the Hope Grove.  The school is one of the oldest in the county and Mr. Miller taught there for many years, accepting the position when he was but a young man.  Many people from Indianapolis, Brazil, Greencastle and other towns in this vicinity always attend the meeting.  Arrangements have been made for the people to be taken from the Gibson Stop on the interurban to the picnic grounds on hay frames.  All friends of Mr. Miller and especially his pupils are cordially invited to attend.  Among those who will attend from this city are: Mr. and Mrs. JE Dunlavy and family; Mr. and Mrs. Elam Denny; JP Denny; JS Hunter; Mrs. Alspaugh; Miss Martha J. Ridpath and Mr. and Mrs. WP Ledbetter.
